Animal print dresses are a big trend for the summer, leopard print and zebra print. Gold accessories are a nice pair to the animal print dresses. Bright colors like yellow, green and pink are also in.

You can pair a loose blouse or even a drapy dress with this accessory. The big, chunky belt goes with just about anything these days. Instead of being hidden in the loops of our jeans, belts are making a statement. They accentuate the waist and make, and break the body into two. Belts are becoming bolder and bolder as the years pass, coming in animal prints and bold, bright colors just in time for the summer. Wearing skinny belts is another trend for this summer, but make sure that it is paired with the right outfit with the right colors. Skinny belts make the body look narrower.

Styles like the monokini, the one shoulder look, retro, and the traditional traingle and halter tops are just a couple of the swim suit styles for this summer 2009.

The look of the monokini is something new this summer, it looks like a bikini connected with a piece of fabric or basically a one-piece witht the sides cut out. This is a widepsread trend due to the fashionista Paris Hilton herself.

The off the shoulder look we have seen in many clothing lines, appearing as a look for dresses as well as casual tops. Although they are not quite popular yet, you can expect to see them next summer but be ahead of the game and find you one now!

People everywhere in America have been going crazy over the new fad of “going green.” It is so easy to be environmental friendly these days, it seems that everything in stores is going green including clothes, shoes, etc. in the fashion world! A clothing line by the name of DNH which stands for Do No Harm has been created to meet the fashion needs of men and women in an environmental friendly way. This is just one step closer to reducing the carbon footprint today.

Adidas, a well known sport clothing and shoe line has made a line of yoga apparel and footwear that is helping in the idea of going green. Going green is quite easy in the fashion world, you should conserve and reuse and recycle.

I just recently visited the iGo Green Fashion and Beauty website which includes ways to environmentally friendly and stylish at the same time. There are shampoos, makeups, and even handbags that are endorse the movement of going green.

We have seen the fashion trend of dark nails for the year of 2008. Colors like navy blue, black, and dark purples have been a heavy trend, but now that we are moving to the summer, the brighter colors are becoming popular.

White and bold colors are the most popular for summer 2009. White nails are the look of the 50′s and has carried over to our new milennuem age, anyone can pull these look off. White nails can be paired with the nautical look or any look in general, its well polished(no pun intended) and a very clean look. The style of bright yellow nails is perfect for a summer look, its color is bold and its just a fun summer look and everyone has copied this trend after M.I.A performed at the Grammy’s a couple of months ago, with her bright yellow nails. Green is also said to be a fresh new look for this summer.

The plaid look seems to be sweeping the nation and quickly becoming a trend of 2009. Everything is plaid from dresses, to handbags to jackets. Not only can the plaid look be for the fall but it is also a look for the spring and summer. According to College Fashion, the two most popular ways that plaid has been used are in dresses and long jackets/trencoats. This is an everyday look and can also be seen on the runway by fashions top designers like Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren.

The plaid look can be pulled off by anyone by just adding these few things in plaid to your wardrobe. I have also noticed the look of the loose plaid lumberjack boyfriend shirts, I guess you could say. You can also do a plaid scark with any t-shirt to pull off the look. Since this trend has become extremely popular, I don’t think it will be going anywhere for a while, so quickly adapt and make a purchase of plaidware to embrace that “lumberjack look.”

One of the most recent summer trends for 2009 is the nautical look. So no longer are the men able to pull off the sailor look but so can the women, with ease. We aren’t going for the Popeye look, but calming it down a bit. The main colors for the nautical look are navy blue and white. Cream can also be substiuted in for the white, and a splash of red can also be added to make the whole nautical look pop. The dark navy look is flattering for all, slimming the figure like black can do. Some of the looks that you could go for are stripes but stripes dont compliment every body type. A blazor with white trouser pants is a very clean cut look for the summer.

When going for the nautical look, accessories should be kept to a minumum. Bling should be downplayed, simple gold earrings or a gold necklace are examples of legit accessories. A hand bag can be paired with the nautical look, a bag with navy stripes or something elese chunky and nautical themed. The shoes that fashionistas are pairing with this look are the basic cork wedge, or to make the look pop even more pair it with some bold red shoes.Sunglasses as well as thick, chunky belts can be paired with this look as well.

Fashion Put On Hold?

With the growing economic desparity in the United States, the fashions from coast to coast are being put on hold. Fashion is no longer being able to spread its wings as wide as it used to, because costumers aren’t being able to buy what producers are putting out. Although producers are releasing the trendy wear of spring/summer 2009, some customers are left to window shop and browse, unable to have their cake and eat it too. So what can designers and producers do to balance out equality. They could make their clothing with cheaper fabric. Cheaper fabric means that they can sale their designers for cheaper. So who is this economic desparity affecting? Are the upper class still able to clutch their wallets waiting for the latest in Gucci and Coach or are they forced to buy off brand or non-authentic. Only the catwalks of the season will be able to tell, until then middle as well as upper class can bargain shop and find the same looks for less!
